The Trump administration has signed an executive order that bans Chinese herbal medicines from entering the United States, the White House announced Thursday.
The move was announced in a White House statement.
Trump signed the executive order at a ceremony with the Chinese President Xi Jinping and other Chinese officials, which also included a statement from Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
The Chinese government has been a major supplier of herbal medicines to the U.N. since the 1980s.
The country’s government has banned U.K.-based China Health Science Group from using the country as a source for its products.
The U.W. has challenged the ban in the courts.
In its statement, the U,W.
said it is “deeply concerned” about the order and that it will continue to fight it.
It also said that the UW will be “working with our partners to implement a stronger rule against Chinese imports into the United State of America, including any shipments from the Chinese mainland.”
